"Forces": Practicing immunity will not succeed in returning Lebanon to the era of guardianship
Fady Mahouly
The media department of the Lebanese Forces Party issued the following statement:
The media department of the Lebanese Forces Party strongly denounces the piracy operation carried out by the resistance forces against MTV TV and against the newspaper “Nidaa al-Watan”, in an open attempt to disrupt the voice of these two media institutions, which constitute a spearhead in confronting the project of keeping Lebanon an open arena for axes and organizations outside the state, at the forefront of which is the banned “Hezbollah”.
This scandalous piracy is only a new episode in a long series of attempts made by the resistance forces and their derivatives to silence free voices in Lebanon. However, all of these attempts failed one after the other, and this new attempt will fail in turn, because the free media in Lebanon has repeatedly proven that it is stronger than intimidation, pressure, and attacks.
This hacking was also accompanied by an organized campaign of messages that included insults, insults, and threats against media professionals in these two institutions, as well as media professionals in other institutions, in a desperate attempt to terrorize and silence them. But whoever thinks that the threat can silence free mouths is delusional, because these methods will only lead to more insistence on telling the truth and continuing the confrontation in defense of Lebanon, the actual state.
The media department of the Lebanese Forces Party affirms its full solidarity with MTV and the newspaper “Nidaa Al Watan”, and with all media professionals who are subjected to campaigns of intimidation, and calls on the official Lebanese agencies, at the forefront of which is the Intelligence Directorate of the Lebanese Army, the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces, and the relevant departments in Public Security, to pursue and arrest all those who threaten media professionals and media institutions, especially those at MTV and “Nidaa Al Watan”. These agencies are also required to pursue known and unknown accounts that are constantly threatening, expose their owners and bring them to justice.
The Lebanese security services, as well as the competent judicial authorities, cannot remain indifferent towards the attacks on MTV, “Nidaa Al Watan” and the media professionals of these two institutions, in addition to other media professionals. These agencies bear responsibility for any complications that may result from their failure to intervene and give everyone their due rights.
The media department stresses that these practices will not succeed in returning Lebanon to a time of guardianship, oppression and intimidation, but rather will increase the determination of the Lebanese to end the reality of Lebanon and establish Lebanon as a de facto state.
